William Becker and family attended the Toenjes-Wecker Wedding Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. H. Wolfmeier visited at the former’s parents at Pulltight Landing Sunday. Henry Tesson of Nursery, Mo., and George Tesson of St. Louis visited at Louis F. Mund’s Sunday. S.I. Taylor, teacher of Riverview School, is attending the teachers institute at Belleville this week. Little Lacy and William Baker of Walsh, Ill., are spending a week with their sister, Mrs. H.L. Eugea. Mrs. Hy. Hautz of St. Louis and Mrs. William Schwartztrauber of East Carondelet were visiting friends here Wednesday. The farmers of this vicinity are nearly all through sowing wheat. The wheat that was sowed early is all up and looking fine. Mrs. Edw. Ulrich, son Clark and daughters Edna and Katherine of St. Louis, and Joseph Eugea of East St. Louis spend Sunday with John. H. Eugea and family. Gov. Major and his party of Missouri passed over here last Thursday in a balloon and landed in Charles Schad’s field near Columbia. The balloon party was followed by two autos which took the party back to St. Louis via Davis St. Ferry.
