COMMITS SUICIDE _________ Jacob Riebling, son of William Riebling of this city, (Columbia, Ill.) committed suicide at his home in St. Louis early Tuesday morning by shooting himself in the left temple. We have been unable to obtain full particulars. All St. Louis papers say that Riebling was despondent over recent deaths in his and his wife’s families. While kneeling at his bedside, evidently in prayer, Jacob Riebling a bridegroom, committed suicide at 1 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 210 A Bowen Street. The Rieblings returned from Columbia Monday. Riebling was in the parlor adjoining the bed- room writing letters. Mrs. Riebling had retired early. About midnight Mrs Riebling awoke and tried to get her husband to retire. He said he would come in a few minutes. A little later he complained of feeling ill and his wife went for a drink of water for him. While she was getting the water in an adjoining room Riebling fired the shot that ended his life. After the shooting Mrs. Riebling summoned her brother-in-law, Frank Harmacek, who lives at 6006 Pennsylvania Avenue. Harmacek called a physician, who in turn notified police. Riebling was 24 years old and was a United Railways conductor on the Jefferson line. His wife who was Miss Lulu Mosbacher, and to whom he was united in marriage in St. Louis last November, is 20 years old. The remains were brought here Wednesday morning and taken to the home of his father William Riebling, where the funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Paul Cemetery.
