Miss Eva Crook spent this week end at home.

Andrew Mosbacher transacted business in Maeystown Friday.

Misses Jennie Mathews and Norma Abel spent Friday night with Mr. and 
Mrs. Peter Fischer.  

Miss Elsie Hern returned home Friday evening after an extended visit with 
relatives and friends in Dupo.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Fults are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy who 
came to make his home with them Sunday.

Misses Elsie and Hulda Klingelberg of Maeys Station and Ruth Hodgins of 
St. Louis visited at the Asselmeier home several days last week and attended 
the peanut party.

Mrs. Mary Kunkel (nee Vogel) died at her home and was buried here in the 
Catholic cemetery after services in the Catholic Church last Wednesday Oct. 21.  
She leaves her husband and eight children and a number of grandchildren and a 
host of friends to mourn her loss.  The children are Mrs. Nick Goodman, Mrs. 
Henry Schmitz, Henry, Rosa, Viola, Willie, Herbert and Bertha.

The peanut party at Canniff School Friday evening was well attended.  The game 
was played at twenty-two tables and all seemed to enjoy the amusement.  Prizes 
were awarded as follows: Ladies first, Mrs. J.W. Fults second, Ada Limestall; 
gents, first, Lawrence Reinhold, jr; second, Harold Fults; girls first, Pearl Koch; 
second, Tillie Roever; boys first, Armin Berneking; second, William Limestall jr.  
The teachers and pupils wish to extend their thanks to all those, who by their 
presence added to the pleasure of the evening, to the firm of Limestall & Bradshaw 
for liberal prize donations, and to Henry Jost who sent a cash donation by a friend as
 he was unable to be present in person.
