Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Friedrich were surprised by their children and many friends last Thursday it being their 45th wedding anniversary. Those present were Mrs. Adam Schneider and children from East St. Louis, Mrs. Frank Schmidt and children, Mrs. Jno. Anna and children and the Misses Sophia and Emma Friedrichs of Carondelet, Mrs. Wm. Rengel and son, Mrs. Wm. Fingado and daughter from Luxenburg, Mrs. Hy. Riebeling, Mrs. VanLick, Mrs. Jno. Steppig and Mrs. L. A. Vogt from here. A splendid supper was served at the home of Gus. Friedrich. All spent a pleasant evening and wishing that Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich may live long and enjoy many more such anniversaries.

STUMPF-MEHRTEN
Mr. Fred Stumpf Jr. and Miss Minna L. Mehrtens were untied in marriage by Rev. E. J. Hosto on August 6 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mehrtens.
The couple was attended by Gustave Stumpf, a cousin, and Minna Stumpf, a sister of the groom.
A large number of relatives and friends, including many from St. Louis, Millstadt and Columbia assembled to celebrate with the young people on this joyful occasion, and their day of wedding was a real gala event. It is the ardent wish of all that their wedded life may be happy and prosperous.

Miss Ida Licht was married to Mr. Louis Mueller Sunday, Pastor Nollau officiating.
The bride is a daughter of Wm. Licht. The groom a son of John Mueller of Foster Pond.
Many congratulations are extended to the young couple.

September 27, 1905

Harres-Grob
Miss Laura Harres daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Harres and Mr. George Grob were married at the residence of the brides parents on Sunday afternoon Sept. 24, Rev. G. Dornenburg of St. Pauls church officiating. The couple were attended by Miss Laura Dryhoff and Mr. Louis Harres. The ceremony took place at 2:30 P.M. The bride was attired in a handsome dress of silk with veil and the groom wore the customary black. After the rites were over the guests sat down to a sumptuous supper. The festivities closed with a dance at night. Among those present were: Chas. Breidecker and family, Theodore Schaefer and family, William Harres and family, Chas. Oerter and family, Daniel Krauss and family, Edward Payne and family, William Haberlah and family, Ben Harres, Gus Grob, O. M. Rendleman, George and John Eckert, Misses Maggie and Lizzie Eckert, Miss Sophie Schneider, G. Ordnung and John Mueller of St. Louis. The young couple will make their home in Sparta where Mr. Grob has a position with the Mobile and Ohio as night operator. Your correspondent wishes them a happy and prosperous life.
