| David Markle, a citizen of Monroe County, was born born 23 Mar 1827 and died 5 years after the civil war 9 November 1870. He served during the civil war as a private in Co H, 37th regiment under Captain William H. Greenwood. On his discharge papers, his birth date is incorrect, he was discharged September 25, 1865.
