Pfeffer, Joe

Joe Pfeffer, 93, of Millstadt, died July 18, 2007, in Belleville. He was born Oct. 30, 
1913, in Centerville, the son of the late Anthony and Irene Pfeffer nee Dashney. He 
was married to Hilda Pfeffer for 67 years. Mr. Pfeffer is survived by his wife; children 
Carolyn (Lawrence) Patterson of Millstadt, Raymond (Pam) Pfeffer of Millstadt, Wayne 
(Pamela) Pfeffer of Smithton, and Glenn (Melody) Pfeffer of Columbia; daughter-in-law 
Betty Pfeffer of Millstadt; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-
great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Mauck of Arizona, and Virginia Schaefer of Millstadt; 
and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Donald 
Pfeffer, and brothers and sisters. Mr. Pfeffer was a member of the St. Clair County Farm 
Bureau and the Bluff Grange for 50 years. He was a farmer and worked as a boiler maker. 
Visitation and a funeral service were at Strauss Funeral Home in Millstadt. He is buried 
at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s 
Research Hospital.
