Arras, Norman John    Obit

Norman John Arras, 55, of Smithton, died Nov. 28, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in 
St. Louis. He was the husband of Debra (nee Lingle) Arras. They were married 
35 years. Mr. Arras was born Sept. 28, 1952, in Belleville the son of Harry and 
Betty Arras. Other survivors include children Julie (Curt) Crossley, Jonathan (Erica) 
Arras and Amanda Arras; a sister, Myra (Ray) Hartgrove; father-in-law, Roy Lingle; 
nieces, Kim (Adam) Shaw and Valerie Henson; grandchildren, Emily, Curtis, Thomas 
and Grace Crossley; and other relatives and friends. Visitation was at the Christian 
Assembly Church in Millstadt where a funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 1, with 
Pastors Royce Coy, Steve Coy and Gary Suits officiating. Mr. Arras was the owner 
of Arras Excavating, Inc. for 40 years. He was actively involved in Christian Assembly 
Church and was band director and youth pastor. Burial was at Mt. Evergreen 
Cemetery in Millstadt.
