The Waterloo Times January 22, 1915 Christmann Mrs. Catherine Christmann, relict of the late Joseph Christmann, Sr., died at her home in this city Wednesday after a short illness ages 74 years, 5 months and 19 days. A queer coincidence of her death was that she died on the same day as her husband, January 20, sixteen years having elapsed since he was summoned. She also died at the same hour 8 o’clock, but her death occurred in the morning, while Mr. Christman died in the evening. Mrs. Christmann was one of those good motherly old souls who numbered her friends by the score. She was a very retiring nature and was ever ready to assist a neighbor or friend in any way possible. She was of a cheerful disposition and always a kind word and smile for everybody. She was a devout Catholic and was as regular to attend her church as she was to take her meals. Four sons and two daughters survive, who have the sincere sympathy of all in the loss of their dear mother. They are Vincent, who resides in the state of Washington, John of St. Louis, Joseph of this city, Mother St. Paul of St. Joseph, Mo., Ferdinand, of Waco, Texas, and Mrs. Al G. Jung of Waterloo. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ferdinand Cawi, Sr., of this city, who has been a helpless invalid for several years past. The funeral will take place Saturday morning at 9 o’clock after requiem mass in Sts. Peter and Paul’s church. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. The bereaved relatives had the sincere sympathy of all in their deep affliction.
