Lueking, Walter R.

Walter R. Lueking, 70, of Waterloo, died January 10, 2006, in St. Louis. He was born 
August 12, 1935, in Valmeyer, the son of the late Walter E. Lueking and Leona Lueking 
Hoffmann nee Diemert. He was married to the late Helen M. Lueking. Mr. Lueking is 
survived by his children Elaine (Robert) Briggs of Rolla, Mo., and Denise (Brian) Wiese 
of Waterloo; grandchildren Tom Wiese, Andrew Wiese, Andrea Mathews and Travis 
Mathews; sister Margaret Lueking; mother-in-law Lucretia Kipping; special friend Shirley 
Schilling of Belleville; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He 
was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Lueking was a member of St. Paul 
United Church of Christ in Waterloo. He was also a member of IOOF Waterloo and Lion’s 
Club. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul United 
Church of Christ in Waterloo, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. He is buried at Kolmer 
Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ
 in Waterloo.
