Krug, Vernon E.
Vernon E. “Ben” Krug, 78, of Waterloo, died December 17, 2005, in Belleville. He was 
born November 3, 1927, in Princeton, Ind., the son of the late Vernon J. and Mildred M. 
Krug nee Sirles. He was married to Bonnie J. Krug nee Welder. He is survived by his 
wife; daughter Tonia E. (Steve) Phelps of Petersburg, granddaughter Erin (Kyle) Griffith; 
brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carlos & Pat Welder of Newburg, Ind.; and nieces, 
nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Krug was retired from 
NW & Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Princeton, Ind., V.F.W. He was a U.S. 
Army veteran. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Matt 
Friz officiating. He is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials 
may be made to the American Cancer Society.
