Wink, Carl P.
Carl P. Wink, 86, of Columbia, died October 2, 2004, at his residence. He married the late 
Dorothy C. Wink in 1941. Mr. Wink was born March 9, 1918, in Columbia, the son of the 
late Charles and Anna Marie Wink nee Ferkel. He is survived by his sons Ralph C. (Eska) 
Wink of Gray, Maine, and Roger (Debbie) Wink of Columbia; daughters Carlene (Harvey) 
Kisro of Columbia, Maryln Berghoefer of Columbia, Diane (Jerry) Thomas of Carterville, 
daughter Dorothy (Oscar) Stewart of St. Paul, Minn., sister Marie Wienhoff of Waterloo; 
sisters-in-law Hulda Wink of Waterloo, and Priscilla Vogt of Waterloo; brothers-in-law 
Carl (Lil) Vogt of Waterloo, and Ivo Vogt of Carterville; 14 grandchildren; nine great-
grandchildren; and relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant 
son, brothers Art Wink and Erwin Wink, and sister Hulda Shrader. Mr. Wink was a member 
of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of Knights of Columbus 
Council #6165. He was a farmer, bus driver and operated a local antique dealership. He was 
also a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral 
mass was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia. Memorials may be made to 
Hospice of Southern Illinois, Gibault Catholic High School or Immaculate Conception Education 
Fund.
