Day, Mamie W. nee Wassom
Mamie W. Day nee Wassom, 94, of Waterloo, died April 8, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born 
December 8, 1910, in Lacy Springs, Ala., the daughter of the late Walter and Lula Wassom nee 
Brown. She was married to the late John R. Day. She is survived by her children Margaret (Bill) 
Corbett of Safety Harbor, Fla., Martha (Kazh) Urban of Gilbert, Ariz., Marvin Winton of Big Springs, 
Tex., Sam (Laura) Winton of Round Lake, John (Paula) Day of King, N.C., and Joe (Barb) Day 
of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Samuel Winton and second 
husband John R. Day. Mrs. Day was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the 
Illinois State Employees Association. Visitation for family and friends was at Quernheim Funeral 
Home. A graveside service was held at SPPS Cemetery.
