Willis, Wayne E.  - Jan 29, 2004 - Obit
Wayne E. Willis, 77, of Columbia, formerly of Valmeyer, died Jan. 29 at St. Anthony's 
Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Ann Willis nee Pape. He was born 
June 6, 1926 at Alliance, OH the son of the late James and Elizabeth Willis nee Garman. 
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scott (Mary Ann) Willis, Robin Willis 
and Mark (Mary) Willis; one daughter Lauren (David) Hesterberg; six grandchildren; 
one step granddaughter; two step great grandchildren; a sister Donna (Larry) Scott and 
a brother Donn (Linda) Willis. Mr. Willis was retired from Fireman's Fund Insurance 
Co. and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was an army veteran 
of WWII. He served 12 years as a village trustee for Valmeyer. He served as choir 
director for 12 years at his church. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, piano player and 
showed his artistic talents with snow sculptures created at his home in Valmeyer. 
Visitation was at the Lawlor Funeral Home where a memorial service was conducted 
Feb. 14.
